I began studying architecture at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto, but soon realised I was more interested in drawing and painting. I was inspired to start a career in art after attending an open house at Ontario College of Art where I graduated in 1980. My recent work depicts the essence of the Canadian landscape, from Urban scenes to the natural beauty of the north. Many years of canoeing in northern Ontario has given me a strong attachment to the land and I hope my landscapes inspire people to see the importance of preserving the natural world. I have great admiration for Canadian artists of the past and my work reflects this while remaing distinctly contemporary.
